-------------
[ BRIEF \
Design for a possible type conference in San Francisco. A three day music and visual event that spans classical music, jazz music and modern experimental music. Each day has a different event topic with guest speakers.
[ APPROACH \
Type and music have so many things in common such as movement, rhythm, wavelength and sound. The conference is about the comparisons between music and typography and how music can translate into typography. The main properties of sound are amplitude, duration, pitch and timbre which can be also applied to typography. This conference is three days with events covering all forms of ambient and experimental music.

[ BRIEF \
Design for Venetia Valley K-8 school in San Rafael, CA. These projects were an identity system that included logo and mural design. This was a Pantone-sponsored project to help elementary school students.
[ APPROACH \
The concept for this series of mural designs is based on the mosaic technique. Each piece of color and shape within the series represents a child at Venetia K-8 school while the background behind the designs reflect the image of the school environment and surroundings. The school logo and mural projects convey the message of equality and wholesomeness.
[ STUDY ID \ PACKAGING 01_LIGHT BULB PACKAGING
-------------
[ BRIEF \
This project improves upon the function and graphics of packaging for general electric light bulbs. The goal was to identify what would improve shelf presence of this product and what special considerations should be taken in redesigning the packaging.
[ APPROACH \
I created a new look for three packages of the Lumen light bulb with different watts ( 60,75 and 100 ). The objective was to create eco-friendly and attractive bulb packages, I used craft paper and the hexagon shape in different color values to get attention on the shelf.
[ STUDY ID \ TYPOGRAPHY 02_TRIBUTE TO TYPEFACE
-------------
[ BRIEF \
The design for the flash cards set used the typeface, Rockwell. It is a serif typeface belonging to the classification slab serif, or Egyptian, where the serifs are un-bracketed and similar in weight to the horizontal strokes of the letters. It was designed at the Monotype foundry's in-house design studio.
[ APPROACH \
The concept was music, which lead me to think of rock & roll. I used some movements and groovy lines to present a flowing feeling. Each card displays the Rockwell typeface through a creative use of size in relation to a variety of musically-themed objects. There were ten cards inside of the card set.
[ STUDY ID \ PRINT 02_ANICOLOR FLASH CARDS SET

[ BRIEF \
Design flash cards and a learning system for kids for both of web and print. This is a Moo.com-sponsored project to help kids to learn colors, animals and emotions based on color psychology all at the same time.
[ APPROACH \
Create animal flash cards for kids to learn about the color system as well as learn the name of animals and emotions. Each animal has a different color with 5-6 different color values. There is an explanation of each color on the back with emotions that the color presents based on color psychology.
[ STUDY ID \ IDENTITY 02_JEJU AIR
-------------
[ BRIEF \
The goal is to redesign of Jeju Air logo and a develop its application System. Jeju Air is Korea’s third airline, following Korean Air and Asiana Air.
[ APPROACH \
The original logo uses the image of the Stone Grandfather. It is a traditional sculpture with a friendly smile to represent happiness and pleasure. Passengers need to feel relaxed and secure when flying, so the new brand identity will reflect the spirit and value of Jeju Air conveying boldness and security. The new Jeju Air logo combines symbols of Jeju Island in South Korea. Yellow represents canola flowers, yellow-green represents grass, orange represents a tangerine and blue represents a clean beach with the sky overhead.
[ STUDY ID \ IDENTITY 02_OTHER AVENUES
-------------
[ BRIEF \
Redesign the logo for Other Avenues and develop an application system for them. Other Avenues believe that it is as important to sustain a healthy democratic business as it is to nourish our bodies with healthy food. Their goals are to provide food and supplies for sustainable living and to support organic and local farms and other small business.
[ APPROACH \
Based on their motto, Other Avenues' logo should represent their notion, “healthy business, healthy people, and healthy planet,” so I wanted their logo to convey a fresh organic feeling by using a sun symbol and a rich green for the lettering. I also redesigned the exterior of their store.
[ STUDY ID \ TYPOGRAPHY 03_BOOK DESIGN
-------------
[ BRIEF \
Design a book with the theme of perspectives, giving information about the eye. Eyes allow us the sense of sight, understanding how objects relate to each other. Many artists have used the importance of the eye as their inspiration throughout history. We can find the symbol of the eye in architecture, paintings, and occult symbols.
[ APPROACH \
I believe that sight is one of the most important functions among the five senses because the eyes accumulates so much of the information we take in. Without the eyes, graphic design would be very difficult to do. I mainly used perspective lines for my concept to convey the sensation of sight. I also put illustrations of diagrams of the eye and infographic design in the book.
[ STUDY ID \ A COLLECTION OF LOGOS
-------------
[ BRIEF & APPROACH \
A strong brand makes a strong company. Success depends on an effective identity. The logo must represent everything that a company is and isn't, all while being modern and relevant to the market. I started those logos as sketches and I captured the essence of the company's notions.
